Kerry and I went to Id. to attend her fathers funeral. (John Dominick) The funeral was nice and there was a small military element at the funeral and they presented a flag to the family and played taps. I thought it was a nice touch. John's death was expected since he'd been ill for some time. He had COPD and was very frustrated that he wasn't able to do all the things he was used to doing. Toward the end Kerry's sister Alane did what she could do to assist him and he paid her a monthly salary.
While we were in Id. we were able to visit with all her brothers and sisters. There was snow in the foot hills in Boise which made for some beautiful background scenery during our travels.
We arrived back in Davenport last night to discover that the kids had taken good care of our home in our absence. No wild parties. :)
It's good to be back home even if it means I have to go back to work. I don't mind traveling but I am usually ready to get back home when it's time.
