Jan 15, 2006

This is an exciting time in my life. That doesn't mean that it's all great but that there are aspects that are uncertain which keeps things exciting. :) That is a good thing by the way because God is in control.
I am keeping in contact with a guy that recently moved back to Davenport from Newton Correctional where he was in the IFI program. IFI or innerchange freedom initiative is a faith based program. If your interested in finding out more go to www.ifiprison.org and click on "about". He is in a work release facility at this time and my hope is that I can help introduce him to other believers as well as encourage him during this transitional time of his life. A high percentage of the people that go through the IFI program don't wind up doing something that puts them right back in jail, this is in sharp contrast to the offenders that don't go through the program. This is new territory for me so that is one of the things in my life that is exciting.
It looks like I will be starting an electrical apprenticeship at work within the next month or so. I feel like God has opened this door for me. It is kind of scary because though I will still be working at the same place I will lose the priviledges that I've gained with my seniority possible including job security. That's ok because if God wants me to do this apprenticeship he knows my future and I can trust him with that.
I ask that you keep me and my family in your prayers. Thanks...
